UK POST STUDY WORK VISA   –  “GRADUATE ROUTE”

It is a new immigration process introduced by the govt of the UK to allow international students who have completed their higher education in the UK to stay or work or seek employment opportunities for two to three years after graduation. This will replace the TIER 4 post study visa. This special scheme helps to attract and retain talented individuals and enhance its position as a global destination for education.

Eligibility Criteria: Students must have completed a recognized higher education course in the UK (i.e) a full-time degree, diploma, or other specified qualification. This allows students to stay in the UK for a maximum period of two years after completing their studies. Doctoral (PhD) can stay for three years. Graduates under this route can work, seek employment, or be self-employed. There are no restrictions on the type of job they can take up. The Graduate Route does not require sponsorship. The Graduate Route is primarily designed for work opportunities, and it is a stepping stone for further studies in the UK and other visa categories that may lead to settle in the UK. After completing the requisite period on the Graduate Route, individuals may be eligible to switch to a more long-term visa, such as the Skilled Worker Visa.

Individuals on the Graduate Route need to comply with the visa conditions, including working legally and adhering to the terms specified in their visa. Failure to do so may result in visa curtailment or other adverse consequences. The UK Post Study Work Visa, or Graduate Route, is a significant step towards encouraging international students to study in the UK, as it offers them a clear and attractive pathway to work in the country after graduation.
